In looking at student’s language development, we use the WIDA Can Do Descriptors to provide examples of what language learners can do at different stages of English language development in listeningspeakingreading and writing. Can Do descriptors enable teachers to meet students where they are currently at with their language development and help provide a map to help students progress in their learning across different content areas. Can Do descriptors do not replace Standards, rather, they supplement them during instruction. Please see the following information for the Can-Do descriptors that students have been working on in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters during this 2019-2020 school year.
