Hi Parents!
I hope you had a restful and relaxing Spring Break last week.  Suggested Learning Ideas & Activities have been updated for this week (4/14-4/17).  You can find them under the "Files & Documents" tab.  They are labeled "Learning Ideas 4/14-4/17."  The county is recommending about an hour a day of learning for kindergarten so please pick and choose which activities are best for your child.  Work continues to be a review of content & optional. You can find our learning ideas & documents on our Bloomz page as well.  Thank you for everything you continue to do at home.  Please contact me with any questions all!
Have a great week!

Hi Parents,
As we begin our third week out of the classroom, I uploaded some learning ideas, activities, and games that review standards previously taught this year. Those can be found in the "Learning Ideas 3/30-4/3" document under the "Files and Documents" tab. Per the county, any work continues to be completely optional and ungraded.

Thank you so much for joining us for our first Zoom meeting last week! Seeing your children made our hearts so happy! Mrs. Schumacher and I are so excited to see the kids again this week.

Please continue to let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help.  I love and miss you all!

Hi Parents,

I am hoping you all are safe and healthy.  Just wanted to let you know to check out the "Files & Documents" tab for an instructional calendar of our kindergarten year so far.  This will provide SOLs and more details about which learning objectives we have covered in Kindergarten from August until our last week at school (3/13). It is labeled "K Pacing Guide." I will continue to keep you updated on the next steps on our learning journey this year.  We are all in this together!

I am also sharing a link to a website called FlipGrid where you and your child can view a "virtual parade" of Westridge Teachers wishing you well.  We all miss you so much!

Hi Parents!

I am missing all of my favorite kindergarteners SO much!  While we are on our extended break, I will be updating Bloomz frequently with communication, resources, and meaningful learning activities.  I wanted to let you know you that I updated the "useful links" part of this webpage with some of the links I've sent you via email and Bloomz.  I also updated the "files" section with the Daily Kindergarten Learning Menus that came home last week.  In that section, you can also find a list of all of our snap words for phonics units 1-5.  I have also included the standards of learning/pacing guides for Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies in case you wanted to check those out.

Please note that no work is required right now; these are just resources that you can use if you'd like.  Please also keep updated at PWCS.edu as they are frequently adding more information about what the next few weeks will look like.  Please let me know anytime you have questions about anything and I will be happy to help.
Give your kids a big hug from me!!

Hi Parents, Boys & Girls!

My name is Mrs. Roche and I am thrilled to be your kindergarten teacher!  I am lucky enough to be starting my thirteenth year at Westridge Elementary. Previously, I taught first grade for 6 years, second grade for 3, and this will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten. Kindergarten is a year full of growth, fun, and excitement.  I feel extremely privileged to have the chance to spend the year with your child!

I live with my husband and 4 year old son, Cooper on a little farm in Fredericksburg with our puppy, cat, and 5 chickens! In my free time I like to run, read, and play outside with my family.  As a graduate of Penn State, I also spend lots of time cheering for the Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers during football season!

Communication is very important to me so please feel free to contact me at any time. The easiest way to reach me is by email (rocheer@pwcs.edu) or by calling Westridge at (703) 590-3711.  I can't wait have a wonderful year together!
